Okay, okay – I’m still here hanging around in the background. Thanks to a few comments that I’ve been neglecting the blog, I’ll do the right thing and post!
On Friday I will be attending my local RWA chapter’s annual luncheon. We’ve got quite the line-up of agents and editors attending. Each table will have at least one editor and one agent, one committee member and the rest is open seating. Since I don’t want to be accused of name dropping – I won’t tell you where my seat is – but I will say that I am completely and totally jazzed!
Which brings me to my problem (come on – if you’ve been reading my blog at all – you know I always have a problem
) As problems go, this one isn’t bad. I’ve got three possible books to pitch. Ahhh…
One is completely done and has been rejected by a few agents and a few editors. It did get a request from an Epub – that I never responded to. (I don’t need the snide comments – so don’t post ‘em)
The second is 75% done and I feel is much better than the first, but something is holding me back on this – not sure what – as my crit partner loves it and has promised to break my legs if I don’t finish and pitch it at Nationals, this should be enough incentive.
The third, is an idea that has been bouncing around my head for a year, and is close to half done.
I know, I know – you should never pitch an incomplete work. But I’ve also heard if you are honest and say it’s almost done – can I send it to you when it’s complete – that’s okay. Please don’t burst my bubble.
Well, know that I’ve spelled it all out in front of me – it looks like door number two is my best bet. At 75% done – I’m sure I can whip it into shape within the next month. The plot and my characters are strong and I just need to get focused.
Wish me luck!
