Alliteration with Deb

February 21, 2007

New day – the blank, stark white computer screen flashes in front of me – Oh No! It’s the beginning of a new chapter which is always the hardest for me. Where should I start this scene? Which characters pov is the most relevant? And most important – what needs to be the goal of this scene and how can I get it written?

Well, it’s time to take a break and visit the dozens of blogs I frequent for some inspiration. I break out the chocolate (okay – it’s only 9am – so maybe I’m not breaking out the hershey bar just yet) and I’ve brewed my favorite coffee – hazelnut cream this morning – yum!

Then I’m back facing that blank white page with the little black blinking cursor. It calls to me to give him some exercise and let him hop across the page as quickly as my nimble fingers can fly across my keyboard – but alas – I’m stumped.

So instead I’ve come here to play a game. It’s called alliteration. Do you dare play along with me? If you’re game – here’s the one and only rule -

Make a complete sentence where every word starts with the first letter of your name – I’ll even be lenient and let you choose your first, middle or last name.

Here’s my offering and then I’m off to get that blank page off my screen…

Debora’s dialogue disheartened Dexter’s demure date.

Your turn…
