Manners

Just a short rant for this chilly Wednesday morning.  During this crazy, wonderful holiday season why is that people show their dark side more often than the good?  People cursing at stoplights, shoving in line and yes, I’m sorry to say – manners have gone completely out the window weeks ago.

And sadly to say, it’s not just the strangers in the stores.  It’s family members too.  Have you sent all your RSVPs for holiday parties and dinners?  I try to.

This is suppose to be the season for giving.  And not just giving presents and getting them in return.  It’s giving of yourself that matters the most.  I smile to someone who looks down, letting the woman with the screaming baby in the shopping cart go ahead of you, letting someone in front of you in that long line of traffic.  Come on folks – a smile and a nice gesture go along way.  Makes you feel good inside.  And maybe, just maybe, that someone you befriended will respond in kind.

Let’s spend the next few days – not just buying, buying, buying.  But putting our best foot forward during these busy days.  We’ve all got places to go, things to do and not enough time to do them.  Will that extra few minutes make a big deal in the large scheme of your life – No.  So – pay it forward, remember your manners and be the holiday spirit this year.
